Exclusive Godin Guitars redesigned by Yves Archambault
The MMMIS and the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal have joined forces with Godin Guitars to combine the talents of the famous Robert Godin with those of the Festival’s renowned artist-in-residence, Yves Archambault. In 2006 and 2007, around 20 guitars have been redesigned, coloured and sometimes even sculpted by Yves Archambault! This collaboration yields totally unique, matchless guitars that are sometimes simply beyond words!
Each guitar is put into the auction and
part of the proceeds from the sale of these true works of art will go toward
funding the free activities offered by the MMMIS, which, like the Festival, is
a non-profit organization. Another portion of the proceeds will go to the MMMIS
Music-to-Youth Fund, where it will help create and maintain activities
or events, such as the Blues Camp, that promote music making.
The Godin Guitar models that have been touched up by the Festival’s artist-in-residence
are the Godin Montréal, A6 Ultra, Triumph, Redline, Multiac
Jazz Spruce, ACS SA, LGXT AAA, the Seagull Mini-Jumbo, and
the Simon & Patrick Parlor and Showcase CW RW.
